Our Favorite Essential Oils This Winter Season

The winter months are well known for having a reputation of the "colds/flu season". Here are some natural alternatives with essential oils to help you boost your immune system! These are just a few of our favorites.....

1.     Frankincense

When in doubt…use Frankincense!  This oil is hailed the “king” of essential oils. So beloved that it was even gifted to Christ after his birth! Frankincense can be used to help with that awful dry winter skin. Just add a few drops to your favorite moisturizer or fractionated coconut oil (FCO) and it will help to hydrate and rejuvenate your skin! Feeling stressed about the holidays? Apply Frankincense to the bottom of your feet to promote a peaceful, calm and relaxing mood. Best of all, Frankincense can boost your immunity and cellular function! *  Just add 2 drops to a veggie capsule and ingest to fight off those winter colds!

2.     On Guard

This wonderful blend is one we suggest should be on hand at all times!  On Guard helps to support an healthy immune system and the body’s natural antioxidant defenses*. We love the On Guard beadlets that you can ingest and carry on hand to take daily or add 2-3 drops in a veggie capsule to boost the immune system*. You can also put a few drops on the bottom of your feet! On kids just remember to dilute by using the in touch roller ball or placing FCO on the skin first then a drop of On Guard. Add On Guard to some FCO and use it as a natural hand cleanser for on the go! We love using On Guard even as a household cleaning product! With ingredients like wild orange peel, clove bud and cinnamon bark, diffusing this warm scent in the house is great for purifying the air and give you an energizing and uplifting aroma!

3.     Melaleuca (Tea Tree Oil)

Did you know that Melaleuca is a great anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent?  Our favorite use for Melaleuca during this “colds” season is for when kids get ear infections. You can add a drop of Melaleuca to a cotton ball and place the cotton loosely in the affected ear. * You can also use it topically around and behind the ear to help. Just remember to dilute the oil by putting FCO on the skin first before applying the Melaleuca. Having a pre-diluted rollerball of Melaleuca would be perfect in this case.  To continue to boost the immune system you can add a drop of Melaleuca to a glass of water and sip away! * 3-4 drops of Melaleuca in a diffuser is also great in the house or office to purify the air.
